Lewis Charles Bowman passed away on May 1, 2016. He was born on February 15, 1923 on a farm north of Iantha, MO. He attended rural schools and graduated from Liberal High School in 1940. He worked various jobs in Kansas City before being inducted in the US Army in 1943. He served in Europe during WWII and was honorably discharged in November 1945. Lewis married Margaret May Truskett in July 1945. He returned to Kansas City and worked for Armco Steel holding various positions before retiring as welding shop foreman after 38 years. He retired in June 1982. Lewis was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Bowman. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Bowman of 71 years and a sister, Lorene B. Williford of South Carolina and numerous other extended family members. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 4th at Langford Funeral Home in Lee's Summit, MO from 5:00p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be at Barton City Cemetery, Liberal MO on Thursday, May 5th at 1:30pm.
