Obituary of James Cobler

James Leroy Cobler, age 62, of Liberal MO, passed away Saturday Feb 18, at the Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, KS. James was born in Yates Center, Ks, on Feb 24, 1954 to Lyle and Hazel (Nutter) Cobler. He married Donna Joy VanKirk April 20, 1973. He was a die supervisor at Peerless Products in Ft. Scott Ks, where he has worked for more than 40 years. James was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing and motorsports. He was a follower of Jesus Christ and a member of the Hannon Free Will Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Donna, their son Christopher James Cobler, and companion Katrina, 2 grand children, Alexandra "Ali", and Ian Cobler. James is also survived by one sister , Etta Hurd and husband Ron; 3 brothers, Buster Nutter and wife Elaine, and Kenny and Carl Nutter and a brother in law Kenny Merriman and his wife Liz and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Beverly Merriman. There will be a memorial service at the Hannon Free Will Baptist Church Near Liberal MO, Friday at 11 A.M. Also friends are invited to a visitation at the Church Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. The Konantz Warden Funeral Home in Lamar MO. is assisting the family with arrangements.
