Alta Stout

Alta Mae Stout, 91, of Joplin, MO, passed away November 28, 2013. She was born May 5, 1922, in Norton, Kansas to Leonard and Jenny VanBuren. Alta married Henry Oscar Stout in Arkansas, and they made their home in Lamar, MO. She enjoyed both vegetable and flower gardening and canning food for her family. Alta was a loving wife and mother. She loved her Lord and was a member of the First Christian Church. Alta is survived by children; Henry "JR" Stout and wife, Sharon, of Neosho, MO; Oda Mae Woody, Forsythe, MO; Kathy Griffitt and husband, Rick, of Lamar, MO; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; brother, Harvey VanBuren. Alta was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar; daughter, June Lehr; her parents; three brothers, Floyd, Glen and Earl VanBuren. She was loved and will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
