Betty Blanchard

Betty Ruth Blanchard, 81, of Sheldon, MO, passed away at Barton County Memorial Hospital, November 13, 2013. She was born August 30, 1932 in Sheldon, MO, to Harold and Wilhma (Ford) Owen. Betty married Irvin Blanchard on March 31, 1956 in Lamar, MO. They farmed, and then started a used farm equipment business in 1980 until the May 4, 2003 tornado. She was a great cook and wonderful seamstress and embroidered. Betty loved flower gardening and canning. She enjoyed doing art work with colored pencils. Betty is survived by one son, Stan Blanchard and wife, Shelia of Sheldon, Mo; two daughters, Kathy Blanchard of Lamar, MO, and Kristy Blanchard of the home; two step children; five step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dean Owen and wife, Loretta, and Monte Owen and wife, Pauline; and many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her husband; and parents.
