Billy Ray Bryant

Billy Ray Bryant, 82, of Joplin, MO, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 8, 2025. He was born in Liberal, MO, to Raymond and Marie (Guerino) Bryant and graduated from Liberal High School. After school, he dedicated himself to farming, a profession that suited his humble and hardworking nature.

Billy had a love for life’s simple joys. He enjoyed traveling, taking several trips to Nashville and other places including Las Vegas. A fan of classic country music, he found comfort in the sounds of legends from days gone by. He also had a deep appreciation for Western films, with John Wayne being a favorite. Whether watching a good Western, taking a peaceful walk outdoors, or a trip with a grandchild to Dairy Queen for an ice cream, Billy embraced life with an easy-going spirit.

He is survived by his son, Micky Bryant, and wife Jodee of Arma, KS; grandchildren Josie Bryant of Pittsburg, KS, Amber Bryant of Cherryvale, KS, Jacob Bryant of Arma, KS, Brandy Conway of Liberal, KS, Kayla Bryant of Kansas City, KS, and Kasey Kite of St. Paul, KS. He also leaves behind 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, daughter-in-law Stacy Bryant of South Mound, KS, and his devoted caretaker, Tessie Ridenour of Pittsburg, KS.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Carol Sue Bryant, his son Jerry Bryant, and his grandson Brandon Bryant.
