Rev. Clyde D. Hendricks, Age 86, went home to be with the Lord , Thusrday Sept 26. Clyde was born in Lamar, MO, May 10, 1927 to William and Clarice McChesney Hendricks. After High School he entered the U. S. Army during the second world war and as part of the occupation force in Japan achieving the rank of Staff Sargent. Upon returning he entered the ministry and held many revivals in the four state area. While preaching a revival in Wichita, KS, he met a church pianist named Ruth Darnell. With a degree of charm and wit and determined pursuit he was able to win the hand of Miss Darnell and they were married in California where she had just moved to accept employment. They returned to the Midwest where Clyde continued his ministry serving Churches and holding revivals in Illinois, Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma. Rev Hendricks is remembered fondly for his ministry to the Native American Churches in Oklahoma. For the last ten years he has served the families at the Iantha Baptist Church and surrounding community retiring only recently when his illness had prevented him from speaking. On September 15 of this year he was honored for his 64 years of ministry by the Ozark Prairie Baptist Association. He is survived by his wife Ruth, a son Ronald Wesley Hendricks and wife Liz of Wichita, KS, a daughter Sherry Scara of Demming, New Mexico, 5 grandchildren; Paul and Susan Hendricks; Geoffrey, Gabriel and Robin Scara. ; several great grandchildren; And a cousin; Rev Gary Joe Carter of Mindenmines. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother; Carl Hendricks.
