Delores Alene Rogers, 77, Joplin, MO, passed away August 30, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born September 15, 1935, to Paul Earlman and Bernice (Peterson) Thomas in Hannon, MO. After she was born, her family moved to and lived in Detroit, Michigan before returning to Liberal, Missouri in her high school years. It was while attending Liberal High School that she met and married the love of her live, Jack Dean Rogers. Delores and Jack married in the home of Tarp and Alice Ricketts in Liberal on May 20, 1953. She worked as a beautician putting her husband, Jack, through law school. Delores was a proud Army wife, and loved the military life that she, Jack and Linda shared. Delores excelled at and loved her role as wife, mother, and homemaker in the home. She enjoyed making meals and snacks. She was known to have said that…. "all good naps are followed by a snack". Delores was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts immensely. During the years she did cross stitch, needlepoint, spinning wool and weaving, painting, quilting, but her most recent passion was beading and jewelry making. She also enjoyed playing the dulcimer for a while. She was a follower of Christ, and a member of the Daughters of American Revolution, Joplin. She loved her family and friends well. Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Dean Rogers; her parents; and a sister, Donna Joan (Thomas) Hackney. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Kay (Rogers) Clements and her husband, Kevin L. Clements, of Joplin, MO; her beloved grandsons, Garrett Dean Clements and Taylor Benjamin Clements, of Joplin, MO; a sister, Sandra Kay (Thomas) Cignetti, of Frontenac, KS.
