Donald Gerths

Donald Lee Gerths, Sr., 70, Lamar, Missouri, passed away Monday, May 23, 2011 at his residence. Donald was born October 29, 1940 to August Jurgen and Myrtle Marie (Kackmeister) Gerths. He was married to Margaret Louise Epple until she passed away in 1976. He married Carolyn Watts on February 2, 1984 at Miami, Okla. Donald worked as a printer for Finley Engineering, as a custodian for Lamar R-1 Schools, and then as a custodian for Legacy Farm & Lawn, where he enjoyed talking about all of the different farm equipment. He retired in October of 2010. Survivors include his wife Carolyn; a son, Donald Lee Gerths, Jr., of Lamar, Mo.; three daughters, Donna Louise Browning of Joplin, Mo., Barbara Lynn Todd and husband Michael of Lamar, Mo., and Heather Marie Gerths of Lamar, Mo.; a sister, Rose Marie Simpson of Roelan Park, Ks.; four Grandchildren, David Wayne Gerths, Ricky Alan Browning, Alicia Nichole Browning and Kalee Joann Gerths; and one Great-Granddaughter, Aryana Joselyn Gerths.
