Donna Jean Lawrence

Donna Jean Lawrence, age 70, of Lamar, MO passed from this life on Monday November 1, 2021, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO, after a brief illness. Donna was born December 13, 1950 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Wilbur and LaVerne (Sheaffer) Lawrence. Donna grew up on a farm in central Iowa, moved to this area in the late 1960’s and retired from bookkeeping. She was employed by a number of local firms including Ihm’s Motor Company, Pahlow & Pahlow, Epoch Composite Products and Roosevelt Bank. Donna was a graduate of Beaman-Conrad High School in Conrad, Iowa, and attended Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS. Donna was a devout Christian, dedicated Bible-reader and member of Milford Christian Church. A kind and generous person, Donna loved music, animals, children and reading. She especially loved her “adopted” nieces and nephew, Michelle (Bryce) Strate, Nathan (Sarah) Davis, Kendall Schlichting and Jaclyn (David) Clark, and their children, Taylor, Hannah, Ashlynn, Michael, Amelia and Nolan. Donna was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Larry Lawrence. She is survived by cousins, Warren (Betty) Lawrence, Ray (Doris) Little, Evelyn Hammer, Pat (Steve) Delfs, John (Karen) Lawrence, Harel Lawrence, Nancy (Kenny) McCall, Sharon (Earl) Higgins, and close friends, Carol Davis, Cara (John) Richey and Judy Gastel. Ashes will be interred later alongside her parents and brother at Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center, Iowa.
