Earl Ronald French, 91, of Lamar, went to be with his Lord and Savior, August 13, 2013. He was born August 16, 1921 in Dundee, Indiana to Luther and Nora (Myers) French. After graduating from Ellwood Indiana High School, he joined the United States Army in January 1942. After honorable discharge in 1945, he began working for General Motors in Muncy, Indiana. He married June Rose Simons and upon his retirement in 1974, they moved to Lamar, MO. Their summers were spent traveling and trail riding on their horses. He also made several mission building trips overseas. They spent their winters in Brownsville, TX. Earl was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Russell, Robert and Howard; two sisters, Mildred Gentry and Dorothy French, all of IN. He is survived by his wife, June, of the home; one son, Larry and wife, Robin, of Littleton, CO; three step-sons, Kenneth Simons and wife, Phyliss, of Ozark, MO, Neil Simons and wife, Kathy, Lamar, MO, and Ronald Simons and wife, Sandy, of Lamar, MO; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. In 1986, he and his wife, June, started mission work in Mexico. The result, with the help of many volunteers from across the United States, were six churches and three Children's Homes along the Mexico border. Earl was a longtime member of the First Christian Church of Lamar and Central Christian Church of Brownsville, TX.
