Edna Mae Mayfield, 84, passed away November 24, 2012, at her home in rural Lamar, MO. Edna was born December 1, 1927, to Paul and Ethel Smith Loewe, near Milford, in rural Barton County, MO. She was a graduate of Sheldon High School, Sheldon, MO. Edna married Charles E. Mayfield on June 16, 1956, in Lamar, MO. They farmed and raised two boys and a daughter. She taught children's Sunday school when her children were growing up. After her husband's passing, she and several friends formed a group they called "Winsome Widows". They ate lunch out every Wednesday. Edna was known as "Cook Extraordinaire" by her family; everything tasted better at grandma's house. She was a member of the Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; a granddaughter, Amanda; her parents; a sister Irene Westbay (Harold). She is survived by sons Randall Mayfield and wife, Barbara, of Knoxville, TN, Roger Mayfield and wife, Joy, of Lamar, MO; daughter Sandra Laws and husband, Ron, of Joplin, MO; nine grandchildren; Stephanie, Kenda and Mark Mayfield, Courtney and Erin Mayfield, and Hannah, Rachel, Eden and Rebekah Laws; sisters Betty Gilmartin (Joe) of Liberal, MO, Nadine Mayfield (Delbert), Lamar, MO, Velma Crockett (Bobby), Lamar, MO, Wilma Braker (Wayne), Lamar, MO; brother Gene Loewe (Nora Lee), Lamar, MO. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend
