Earnest “Ernie” Wayne Workman, 82 passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018. Ernie was born December 14, 1935 in Springfield, MO and was raised by Will and Chloe Workman in rural Iantha. He graduated from Liberal High School in 1956. He married Carolyn Noll November 19, 1960. They had one son Terry Wayne Workman. Ernie was a skilled brick mason working for Corn Products for 29 years until he retired. He served in the Army as SP4 (E4) T from 3/10/58 – 2/10/64. He was of the Methodist faith and a member of the VFW. Ernie is survived by his brother Wayne Workman, sister Pauline Smith, sister-in-law Joanne Harper, brother-in-law Jack Noll and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. A special nephew Jerry Workman and great nephew Josh and great niece Heather. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn, August 1, 2008 and their son Terry, October 7, 1979, he was also preceded by 9 siblings, Eunice LeVaugh, Leonard Workman, Ellen Ambler, Elsie Clark, Jewell Workman, Don Workman, Nadine Ireland and 2 died in infancy Clifford Workman and Waneta Workman. Donations suggested to Iantha Cemetery in care of the funeral home .
