Fern Merrie Brown, age 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Friday July 28th, at her home in Lamar. Fern was born December 20, 1939 in Greenfield, MO, to William and Opal Mayes. She married Harvey Brown in Lamar August 8, 1958. Fern was very artistic and was a floral designer and she loved making jewelry to sell and for family and friends. She worked for many years for June and Lloyd Strong at the Lamar Greenhouse and florist and later at Strong's Corner Florist. She also worked at O'Sullivan and at Big Smith. Fern was preceded in death by her mother Opal Mayes, her sister Nellie Ladwig , Her son Dean Brown and three grand children, Heather, Corey and Garth. Survivors include her husband Harvey Brown, 2 sons, Wayne Seaton and wife Janice of Lamar , Charles Seaton and wife Christy of Lamar, 3 daughters, Vickie Clark of Lamar, Verna Pennell and husband Robert of Lamar and Veronica Tucker and husband David of Chattanooga, TN, 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. There will be a memorial visitation on Wednesday August 2nd from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Konantz Warden Funeral Home in Lamar.
