Janice “Jan” Laraine Luce

Janice “Jan” Luce, 74, Lamar, Missouri, passed away at 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.

Jan was born July 26, 1947 in Lamar, Missouri to Elmer “Duffy” and Francis “Billie” (LeAn) Timmons. She was a graduate of Lamar High School and lifetime resident. She married Jackie E. Luce on December 21, 1979 in Miami, Oklahoma. Jan worked for 29 years at O’Sullivan Industries, then Lamar Enterprises before retiring.

Survivors include one son, Toby Luce and wife, Sherri of Lamar, Missouri; granddaughter, Katelyn LeAn and husband, Travis Gillis; one grandson, Brady Scott Luce; sister-in-law, Kay Timmons; nephews, Tyler, Terin, Troy, Corey, Jake, Josh, Dusty Timmons, and their families.

Jan was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her parents, Elmer and Billie; and both of her brothers, Tim and Stan Timmons.

She enjoyed studying her bible at home. She was an avid bowler, belonging to several bowling leagues. She was very supportive of the Lamar Tiger sports programs. She loved watching her son coach and grandchildren compete. Jan was extremely proud of the work her son does as a police officer, protecting the community. She cherished the many friendships she had made over the years.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Milford Christian Church in care of the funeral home.

The family will receive visitors from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM on Monday March 14, 2022 and a funeral service will be held on Tuesday March 15, 2022, at 10 AM at Konantz Warden Funeral Home.
