John Amos Garvin

John Amos Garvin, 85, of Lamar, MO, passed away on April 12, 2023 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO. John was born to Pearl and Ernest Garvin on June 27, 1937 in Carthage, MO.

John met Charlene Smith in Hammond, IN and they were married on April 5, 1975. They later moved to Missouri where they resided for over 20 years. John was employed as a Uranium Miner in Arizona and an electrician for the City of Lamar, MO. John loved hunting, fishing, and maintaining his garden each year.

He is preceded in death by his wife and parents.

John is survived by his children Mike Burke Jr and wife Brenda of Carthage MO and Rose Burke of Lamar, MO. He is also survived by his grandchildren Shyla, Whitney, Kristina, Nathan, Nicholas, and Justin and by many great-grandchildren whom he loved very much.
