June Rose Gray

June Rose (Mitts) Gray passed away on Monday June 27, 2022. She was born on June 25, 1945, in Lamar, MO to Stanley and Lucy (Bourquin) Mitts. June married Gary Gray on February 5, 1962 in Liberal, MO and they remained married for 45 years until his death in 2007. They lived in Belton, MO and Sheldon, MO. June moved to Nevada, MO in 2020 to be closer to family. She worked as a custodian for many years for Marion Laboratories in Kansas City.


June did not graduate from high school but attained her GED in 1977. This is a feat of which she was very proud. June was a member of the Milford Christian Church. She loved her pastor and church family and missed being able to attend services after her health declined. She was also a member of Mo-Kan Squares square dance club and enjoyed her time dancing with them as well.


She is survived by her niece Sherry Jenkins and husband Skip of Nevada, MO; nephew Stan Farmer and wife Susie of Jefferson City, MO; nephew Ken David of Froelich, IA; nephew Frank Unertl of Pella, IA; niece Debbie Mason and husband Garry of Harrisonville, MO; and nephew Bill Griffitt of Lamar, MO; along with many other nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.


She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughters Nancy Ann Gray and Mary Jane Gray; and all of her siblings Stan Mitts; Bill Mitts; Pearl Felarski; Lurlene David; Creda Unertl and Louise Farmer.


Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the American Heart Association.


The family will receive visitors on Thursday June 30, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and there will be a funeral service on Friday July 1, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Konantz Warden Funeral Home.
