Kate J. Webb 97 passed away Wednesday, November 4 2015 at Truman Healthcare after a lengthy illness. Mrs.Webb was born March 23, 1918 in Alva, Oklahoma, she attended a country school north of Lamar, Mo. At a young age she began working at McClanahan's cooking and cleaning, McClanahan's is where she met her husband Oscar who was also working there at the time, Oscar and Kate were married February 26, 1938 in Iantha MO in the early 1950's they moved to their farm in Iantha. They had cattle, chickens and milked cows. Kate was a cook at Liberal School, helped her husband on the farm and raised 2 children. She was a member of the Iantha Methodist Church and was very active in the church until her illness. She is survived by her son Tom Webb and wife Shirley Carthage, MO, grand-daughters Genny Welch (Rob) Carthage, MO, Emily Allyn (Tim) Stillwell, Kansas and great grandchildren Quinton Scott, Ashton Welch, Payton Welch and Zella Allyn, also surviving is her brother Bert and sisters Sarah, Ruth, Ann and Dean. Preceding her in death was her parents Bert and Mary Potter, her husband Oscar, daughter Dora Colleen, her brothers and sisters Mary, Martha, Jesse, John, Jack and Charlie.
