Kenneth E. Lincoln, 90, Lamar, MO, passed away at his home, August 16, 2012. He was born to Forrest Dale and Eura Golden Cates Lincoln, January 23, 1922 in Leasburg, MO, the only son of five children. Kenneth enjoyed his childhood in Leasburg, attending school, having his grandparents and aunts and uncles close by. Routinely he would ride a blind horse to Meramec River to visit his paternal grandparents. At 16, he traveled to Mexico, MO to seek employment. Kenneth had to blindfold the work horse to cross the Missouri River bridge at Hermann, MO . Shortly after, he served in the United States Army, spending most of that time in Oregon. After his honorable discharge, he joined his family in St. Louis, MO. While in St. Louis, he sustained injuries after he was struck by a train and spent several months recovering. He married Jean Wilson, December 15, 1941, and to this union two children were born, Wes and Karen. He then moved with his family to Kansas where they farmed. Kenneth was proud of his farm. Many commented on its beauty and pristine setting. After his father's passing, the farm sold, and Kenneth worked construction, building, maintaining and renovating homes, for others and himself. He acquired his real estate license. He married "Shorty" (Medlin) Darrah, February 20, 1976, in Miami, OK and together they owned and operated Lincoln Real Estate in Lamar for over forty years. He later added real estate appraisal services to the business, as well as building, developing properties for resale and operating residential rentals. Kenneth and Shorty enjoyed eating out and traveling. Their favorite destination was Hawaii, visiting there ten times. He was a long time member of the Lamar Christian Church, having a deep belief in Jesus. Preceding Kenneth in death are his parents, wife, Shorty, son Wesley Dale, and step-daughter Wilma Lewis; sisters Gladys Hinton and Lucille Willingham, and two infant sisters. He is survived by daughter, Karen Probst and husband, Paul; two step-sons, Johnny Darrah and wife, Lorene, Ron T. Darrah and wife, Kim; step daughter, Jewell Little and husband Danny; grandchildren Tina Zeagler and husband Kenny, Tonya Reynolds, step grandchildren Jason Bartlett and wife, Christy, Julie Adams and husband, Doug, Chase Darrah and wife, Julie, Dustin Darrah and wife Nicole, Sara Foster and husband, Andy, Tammy Fuller and husband, Bill and John Darrah; three great grandchildren, fourteen step great grandchildren. He was affectionately known as "Uncle Deacon" by his many nieces and nephews. Kenneth will be forever loved and sadly missed.
