Mary Ada Louise Medlin "Kitty", went to be with the Lord on Wednesday December 28, 2022. She was born on May 13, 1929, in Eureka, KS to Perry and Louise Mitchell. Kitty married the love of her life, Claude Medlin on June 25, 1947, in Bentonville, AR. They enjoyed 50 years and 11 months of marriage before he went to be with the Lord.


Mary loved life and loved to help others. She spent most of her life as a nurse and a caregiver. She touched many lives with her servant’s heart. She worked as a nurse at Mt Carmel in the neo natal nursery and at St John’s Hospital. She was a hard worker and at the same time she worked at the hospitals, she was also the owner and operator of the Lamar Nursing Home which she owned for 19 years. She lived in Lamar, MO for 31 years and then in Carthage, MO where she resided for 40 years. In Carthage, she worked for Big Smith, Safeway, and continued to work as a caregiver for people in their homes, caring for them and providing overnight care.


Mary loved life and loved helping others. She was well known, especially for her chicken dinners. She loved her family and was always having get togethers where she enjoyed time with them. Kitty was a talented musician. She played the organ and enjoyed music. She attended the Nazarene Church in Webb City, MO, was a member of the Civil Defense in Carthage, MO and the Rebekah Lodge in Lamar, MO.


She is survived by her children Threcsa Bryant of Carthage, MO and Lewis (Cynthia) Medlin of Carthage, MO; Shane (Bill), Sean (Felicia), Shara, Bryce, Allison (Elliot), Tristan (Carina); and was blessed to be survived by 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Shirley, Gail and Janice.


She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; son Jerry Claude Medlin; brother William Mitchell; son-in-law Cliff Bryant; and 2 great great-grandchildren Jaxon Bryant and Baby J Bryant.


If you would like to make a memorial contribution in her name, the family suggests donations be made to Three Rivers Hospice in care of Konantz Warden Funeral Home.


The family will receive visitors on Friday January 6, 2023, from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Konantz Warden Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will follow at 1:45 PM at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
