Louise Annabell “Harper” Jones passed away Monday April 23, 2018 at home surrounded by her family. She was born Feb. 10, 1926 in Rich Hill, MO. to Robert Lee Harper and Maggie “Ross” Harper. She was preceded in death by her 4 children, 1 grandson and her husband. She is survived by 3 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. She was one of 10 kids, Louise often said that she had no choice, but to be tuff – she grew up with 7 brothers who taught her to play football and baseball. She is survived by two of her brothers, Percy and Raymond Harper. While living in Nevada she met and eventually married Audrey Jones with whom she had 4 children. She spent most of her life in the K.C. area later returning to her hometown of Nevada, MO., and eventually to Springfield, MO. where she lived the remainder of her life with her granddaughters Debbie and Kelly. Louise loved all her grandchildren and great grandchildren, but had a very special place for her grandson “Bub” whom she raised as her own. We’ve often joked that Bub could burn the house down and she would respond with “well it probably needed to be burned”. She enjoyed quilting and collecting cookbooks. She continued cutting patterns and putting pieces together until she become ill in October 2017. She was a funny and feisty woman who will be greatly missed. There will be a graveside service at 3 P.M. Friday April 27, at the Moore Cemetery in Nevada MO. Family and friends will meet at the Konantz Warden Funeral Home in Lamar, MO, at 1 P.M. for a brief visitation before going to the Cemetery in procession. We would like to thank Integrity and Home Hospice, especially Marci, Anna and Flori.
