Margaret Bowman

Margaret May Bowman, age 89, formerly of Liberal, passed away February 20, 2017 at the Oak Pointe assisted living facility in Kearney, MO. She was born June 27, 1927 in Liberal, MO to Lonnie and Zola May (Brooks) Truskett. She attended several rural schools and graduated from Liberal High School. Margaret married Lewis Charles Bowman in 1945 and they were married 71 years until he passed away in May of last year. She worked and retired after 30 plus years for Montgomery Wards as a secretary at their headquarters in North East Kansas City. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Lewis and their daughter Susan Bowman. Survivors include her sister Betty Schaffhausen, brothers Gene Truskett and wife Helen and Dave Truskett and wife Gerri, and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 2 P.M. Thursday Feb 23 at the Barton City Cemetery. Pastor Randy Sprenkle will officiate. The Konantz Warden Funeral Home in Lamar MO. is assisting the family with arrangements.
