Mary K. Miller, 98, Lamar, MO, passed away November 11, 2013, at her home. She was born May 13, 1915 to Louis and Loretta (Snip) Wolf, in Lamar, MO. Following graduation from Lamar High School, Class of 1933, Mary K. attended Joplin Business College and graduated from Springfield Teachers College, Class of 1940, with a teaching degree. She taught in rural Barton County for three years before and then K through 12th grade in Compton and Mendota, IL schools as well as Home-Ec. She married Dale Miller, June 11, 1943. Two children were born to this union, Ruby and Louis. Mary K. moved back to Lamar, MO in 1993 and was very active in the community. She was a member of the Lamar United Methodist Church, Esther Circle, Lamar Retired Teachers Assn., LaSalle County IL. Retired Teachers Assn., Illinois Retired Teachers Assn., General Federation of Women's Club of Il & MO, Atheneum Club, Wednesday Bridge Club, Sew and So Club and a member of the Barton County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Her sense of humor and love of life for her God, family and friends were enjoyed by all who knew and loved her. Mary K. was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; a daughter, Ruby Loretta Miller Orval; her parents; a sister, Margaret Wirts. She is survived by her son, Louis Roy Miller and wife, Sherril Kleckner Miller, of Weston, NE; son-in law, Francis Orval, Belgium; grandchildren, Colin P. Miller, Livermore, CA, Rachel Miller delaTorre, Bonita Springs, FL, Silas Dale Miller, Loraynia Kearns, Kate Hazelton, Gregory Pletcher, Corbin Pletcher, all of NE; great grandchildren, Raven Kearns, Sayer Kearns, Charles delaTorre and Lily delaTorre; extended family, Gail and Cinda Miller, Burly and Marsha Jenkins, and Billy Martin.
