Michael Wayne Berry

Michael Wayne Berry was born October 5, 1957 in rural Dade County to Evelyn Louise Berry. He entered into rest on November 20, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield due to Covid complications at the age of 63. Mike was a lifelong Lockwood resident and loved his time at Good Shepherd Nursing Home. He was honored to serve as the President of the Resident Council at Good Shepherd and took great pride in this role. He enjoyed entertaining others, making crafts and singing karaoke, he loved playing cards and dominoes with other residents, and joking with the staff was a daily occurrence. He was an avid sports fan and could tell you everything there was to know about the Kansas City Chiefs. He loved his family fiercely and never missed an opportunity to tell others about them. Mike never met a stranger and could remember names of people he met years earlier. He could light up a room with his infectious smile and was kind to all he came into contact with. Mike had the ability to make everyone laugh and brought joy to all who knew him. Mike is survived by his brother David (Lesha) Muncy of Lockwood, two sisters, Brenda Douty of Butler, MO and Evelyn Muncy of Nevada, MO, and a sister-in-law Courtney Coonis of Dadeville, MO. His aunts, who were very dear to him, Roberta Franklin, Butler, MO, Shirley Cheek, Lamar, MO, Linda Martin, Lockwood, MO, Sue Gerleman, Bolivar, MO, Becky Berry, Overton, TX, Norma Mitchell, Prescott, KS and Beverly Chandler also of Prescott, KS. as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members who will miss him. He is preceded in death by his mother, Louise Muncy, his step father Paul Muncy, his brother, Jason Muncy, and brother-in-law Bob Douty. Graveside services will be Wednesday, November 25th, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Lockwood Cemetery.
