Ralph John Schmidt

Ralph John Schmidt passed away at his home in Golden City, MO on Friday January 27, 2023. He was born on April 26, 1953, in Frankfurt, Germany to Ursula Schmidt. Ralph graduated from Mt Vernon High School. He went to work for Wayne Daniels Trucking as a mechanic. Ralph was a talented mechanic and even built his own truck with the cab low like in a car. He worked as a truck driver for many years.


Ralph loved his family, especially his wife Faye, and he never recovered from her death in 2017. He was a loving father to his three boys and loving papa to his five grandchildren.


Ralph is survived by his sons Stoney Davis and wife Tracy and Johnathan Schmidt; five grandchildren Dersham, Lydia, Sylvia, Abbey, and Chance; and his brother Michelle McGehee.


He was preceded in death by his wife, mother, and son Christopher Schmidt.


A graveside service will be held on Friday February 3, 2023 at 2 PM at Gray's Point Cemetery. There will be a convoy and procession to the cemetery. Meet at the funeral home by 1 PM. We will head north on Gulf to 160 where we will turn right to head east. We will remain on 160 until we get to Lockwood if you would like to join along the route.
