Sandra Sue Lewis, 77, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Truman Health and Rehab in Lamar, MO. She was born in Buena Vista, Colorado to Bert and Mable (Earley) Morain. They later moved to Santa Rosa, California, where she met the love of her life, Edward Lewis. Together, they built a life full of adventure, eventually settling in Golden, Colorado, near the fairgrounds in 1978. In 2001, they moved to Golden City, MO, where they purchased a home and spent many happy years until Edward’s passing from cancer in 2013. After his passing, Sandra moved to Lamar to live with her son, Nathan Lewis, who survives her.
Sandra lived life with passion and a love for adventure. She rode her motorcycle—a trike—embracing the open road, enjoyed fishing, and bowled in a league. In her later years, she became an avid gamer, spending hours immersed in worlds like World of Warcraft, City of Heroes, and Star Wars: The Old Republic. She also loved crime dramas like Longmire and CSI and was an enthusiastic reader of action-packed books. A talented and creative cook, Sandra had a gift for combining unexpected ingredients into delicious meals.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Lewis, her parents, and her daughter, Lora Miller.
Sandra will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, her kindness, and the joy she found in life’s simple pleasures. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
