Susan J Johnson

Susan Kay Johnson, 75, passed away on January 25, 2025. Born in Huron, Missouri, she was the daughter of Wathena Adaline (Neil Yeargain) and Hammond Johnson. She grew up in Bolivar, where she graduated from Bolivar High School before earning a Bachelor's degree in Art and Psychology from Southwest Baptist College.

A gifted artist, Susan expressed her creativity through various mediums, with a special passion for pottery and painting. She especially enjoyed making and painting porcelain dolls.  Her artistic spirit shone brightly in everything she created. In addition to her love for art, she found great joy in breeding and showing Cocker Spaniels.

Susan is survived by her son, Josh Payton, and his wife, Jennifer, along with her grandchildren, Natalie and Nora, all of Tulsa, OK. She is also survived by her sister, Sandra (Johnson) Boyse. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Neil Roger Johnson.

The family is thankful to Truman Health and Rehab for their loving care of Susan over the last 7 years.

A private family gathering will be held in her honor.
