Trixie Jane Vorhees

Trixie Jane Voorhees, age 84, passed away on Saturday September 10, 2022. She was born on March 5, 1938, in Lamar, MO to Roy and Marie (Hayward) Voorhees. She attended Newport School. Trixie worked for 53 years at the Blue Top where she made amazing pies and hot rolls that were so good that they brought people from miles away. She was a talented crafter who enjoyed creating needlepoint projects and quilts to give to her family. Her latest project, which she just completed, was making pillowcases for each of her great nieces and nephews.

Survivors include sisters Claudine Hathcock of Branson, MO, and Pat Sorrels of Grove, OK; brother, Lee Roy Voorhees and wife Anna of Lamar, MO; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made in care of the funeral home, or through the online donations link, to Jacob's Ladder Care Service Inc.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday September 13, 2022, at 10 AM at the First Christian Church of Lamar.

The funeral home will be open from 1 PM to 5 PM on Sunday September 11, 2022, and will have extended hours until 7 PM on Monday September 12, 2022, for visitors who would like to come and sign the book.
