Wynona Lee Pennell, 83, Lamar, MO, passed away August 6, 2013, at Truman Healthcare, Lamar. One of nine children, she was born November 25, 1929, in Golden City, MO, to Ira and Mary (Heath) Bishop. Wynona worked hard during her lifetime, inside and outside the home. She raised four boys and one girl. Wynona also helped rear and housed many children besides her own. The nick name "Granny", just kind of stuck. She was the salvage lead for O'Sullivan Industries in Lamar, retiring May of 1995. Wynona is preceded in death by her oldest son, Franklin Leroy Pennell, Jr.; her parents; a sister, Lavona Ison; a brother, Charles Bishop. Survivors include sons, William Pennell and wife, Marcia, of Iantha, Robert Pennell and wife, Verna, of Lamar, Dale Pennell of Lamar; a daughter, Peggy Burns of Lamar; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brothers Jim Bishop and Roy Bishop; sisters Lois Smith, Wanda Ragland, Jeraldine Carter and Cheryl Bishop and many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. She was loved and will be missed by many.
