Curtis was born June 1, 1926. His parents were John and Hazel (Wilson) Peterson. He married Mary Goodin in 1948 in Bowling Green, Mo. He later married Betty Arft in 1988 in Springfield, Mo. Curtis was a veteran of the Air Force. He worked as a communications engineer for the telephone company until retiring.
Survivors include his wife, Betty, Lamar, Mo.; two sons, Randy Peterson, Tulsa, Ok. and Jon Peterson, Tasmania, Australia; two daughters, Constance Peterson, New York City, NY and Judith Pedersen-Benn and husband David, Cedar Rapids, IA.; five grandchildren, Shannon Herd, Aaron Brooks, Travis Brooks, Ingrid Peterson and Hunter Peterson; and seven great-grandchildren.
Curtis was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Jeffries, and a grandson, Paul Williams.
