Myrtle Marie Benson, 96, Jasper, Mo., passed away Sunday, July 10, 2011 at her residence. Marie was born March 2, 1915 to Oscar and Lily (Hughey) Winans at Monett, Mo. She married Arnold Benson in 1945 at Sarcoxie, Mo. He preceded her in death in May of 2009. Marie worked as a nurse assistant at Bennett- Clarkson Hospital in Rapid City, South Dakota, while living in Scenic, SD. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Jasper, Mo. Survivors include three daughters, Darlene Garcia and husband Adolph, Rapid City, SD, Mary Rodriguez and husband Teo, Jasper, Mo., and Lillian Jendry, Clarksville, TN; 12 Grandchildren; several Great-Grandchildren; a brother, Randolph Winans, New Jersey; three sisters, Melva Rose Newton, Bardwell, KY, Mary Bencini, Evansville, IN, and Mattye Bellamy, Wycliffe, KY; and many nieces and nephews. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, two sisters and one Grandson, Mike Garcia.
