Obituary of Bernice Henson

Bernice Grace Henson, 65, Lamar, passed away August 11, 2013, at Barton County Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born the third of five children to Fern and Viola Byrd Nimmo, August 28, 1947 in Kansas City, Kansas. Bernice attended school in Kansas City, then went on to receive her C.N.A in Nevada, MO. She was employed by Barton County Memorial Hospital as a C.N.A. and ward clerk. She raised five children. She loved her Chihuahua's, also known as the two hairy sisters, Mandi and Gidget. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Anthony Nimmo; a sister, Carolyn Soverns. Survivors include her husband, Harold Henson , of the home; a son, William Beard, of Kansas City, MO; daughters Deborah McLear, of Kansas City, KS, Cheryl Potter, of Lamar, MO, Karen Jenkins, of Clinton, MO, and Jennifer Hillier, of Lavaca, AR; eight grandchildren, Crystal Fullerton, Lister Potter III, Taylor Potter, Devonte Henson, Kiana Lee, Kelby Hillier, Bethany Hillier, and Kaden Hillier; two great grandchildren, Sean Anthony Fullerton and Dreyson Henson; sisters Glenda Nimmo and Pat Grigsby; many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. She was loved and will be missed by many.
