Rosezeltha (Rose) Mckenzie, 63, passed away October 2, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. Rose was born on February 2, 1951 to John and Ruby Spratt Pyatt. Rose was a lifelong Barton County resident where she spent 28 years of her working career as a LPN at Barton County Hospital. She was a Methodist and she attended the Oakton United Methodist Church. She was also a passionate dog lover, Rowdy, Baby and Honey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy D. Mckenzie who passed away, April 1, 2000, her father, Johnny W. Pyatt, a daughter Rebecca M. Holt, 2 grandsons, Stetson J. Cato and Daniel P. Schwan, Jr. Survivors include: her son, John Mckenzie and his fiancée Kathleen Snow of Lamar. Her daughter, Melissa Schwan and her husband Daniel of Weir, KS, her mother Ruby M Pyatt of Lamar, her brother, Charles Edward Pyatt of Dixon, MO, and Her grandchildren, Johnna Cato-Schwan, Bobby Schwan, Kinsey Schwan and Allison Schwan. Donations suggested to Compasses Hospice, Lamar in care of the funeral home.
