Obituary of Ora Bass

Ora Othel Bass passed away on July 13, 2105 at Barton County Hospital at the age of 94. Ora was born on April 10, 1921 to James Alfred and Laura Mae Beckley Bass in Milford, MO., the baby of six children. Ora was a member of the class of 1936 Milford High School. Ora married Thelma Mae Moore on June 6, 1942 in Lamar, MO and she passed away on September 12, 1997 after 55 years of marriage. Ora worked for Gilkey's, Ihm's, Medlin's doing auto body work and he also was a hobby farmer. Ora is survived by his children, Alfred Bass and his wife Retta of Wichita, KS, Ora Dean Bass, Jerico Springs, Mo, Lonny Bass and his wife Ann, Lockwood, MO, Wilma Volkman, Harrisonville, Mo and Nancy Boman and husband Mike of Lamar. Also surviving Ora are 11 Grandchildren, 13 Great-grandchildren, 3 Great-great Grandchildren and 5 step- grandchildren, 7 step great-great grandchildren and numerous others that called him Grandpa. Preceding Ora in death are his parents, wife Thelma Mae, brothers, Cloyd, James "Jimmie", HO "Jack", Orville, and sister Edith Taylor, grandchildren, Chemaly Jo Boman, Albert Dean Bass and Great-Great grandchild Zayden Brollier. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 2:00 pm, July 17 at the Konantz Warden Funeral Home; the family will receive friends on Thursday, July 16, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Maple Grove Cemetery.
