Obituary of Oliver Campbell

Oliver Willard (Bud) Campbell, age 86, passed away May 22, 2016 at Truman Health and Rehab in Lamar. Bud was born in Colorado Springs December 13, 1929 to John and Opal (Bishop) Campbell. Services will be held May 25, 2016 at Konantz Warden Funeral Home, with Mike Gage officiating, and burial in Memory Gardens. He moved with his family to Missouri in 1948 and graduated that year from El Dorado Springs High school. Later he served in the United States Navy. In 1953 he went to work for the Missouri State Highway Department in the survey department. He continued in that career for 38 years, retiring in 1992. Bud and LeAnn Foster were married at Cabool, Missouri on June 12, 1955. He was an accomplished woodworker and made many furnishings for their home. Bud was a member of the First Christian Church in Lamar, where he served many years as a deacon, elder, Sunday school teacher, and leader of youth groups. He was on the Koinonia Christian Campus Ministry Board at Missouri Southern State University for 21 years. He and LeAnn were Volunteer Ombudsman at Truman Healthcare and Rehab for more than 25 years. He was a member of the Association of Missouri State Employees, and an associate member of Barton County Retired Educators. Bud is survived by LeAnn, his wife of almost 61 years. He is also survived by their four daughters, Janet Campbell, Sedalia, Missouri, Patti and husband Jeff Burnette, Owasso, Oklahoma, Vicki and husband Joe Pugh, Lamar, Sharon and husband Brian Board, Nevada, two sons Bill and wife Tammi Campbell, Kansas City, Missouri, and Greg and wife Kathy Campbell, Cuba, Missouri. Also surviving are sixteen grandchildren: Amber (Chris) Wood, Tiffany (Dusty) Pruitt, Ashley (Brian) Johns, Daniel (Kesley) Burnette, Phillip (Cassandra) Burnette, Parker (Carli) Board, Tucker Board, Amanda (Caleb) Remboldt, Amanda Campbell, Kathleen Brooks, Gregory Campbell and fiancee Mia Brown, Ben (Debbie) Pugh, Nathan (Meghen) Pugh, Becky Pugh, Tim and Louis Ettinger, and twenty-two great-grandchildren: Peyton and Hunter Johns, Gus and Tony Brooks, Jayson and Madison Campbell, Thaddeus Wood, Autumn Board, Janessa and Eli Burnette, Kennadi and Emi Pruitt, Zachary Pettibohn, Kennedy, Ray, Gavin and Gwen Pugh, and Kylie, Jake, Cody, Jon, and Jesse Ettinger. He is also survived by a sister, Carol Hoerning, El Dorado Springs, a brother Oren Campbell, Greeley, Colorado, brothers-in-law Tom Brewer, El Dorado Springs, Sam Foster, Lamar, and Ed Foster, Bonney Lake, Washington, and a sister- in-law, Mary Breshears, Weaubleau,. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Dale Campbell, a sister Hazel Brewer and brothers-in-law Bill Foster and Lloyd Hoerning.
