Lorain Jeanette Leer, 71 of Lamar, Mo, passed away Thursday February 22 at her home after a long battle with cancer. Jeanette was born December 17, 1946 to Leonard and Barbara (Bolster) Winterowd in Sacramento, CA. She is survived by her husband Larry Leer. They were married October 28, 1990 in Jerico Springs, MO. Jeanette was a member of the dietary department at the Barton County Memorial Hospital. She retired in 2012 after more than 20 years of service. Jeanette and Larry are members of the Lamar First Assembly of God Church. She will be remembered as a good cook and her love for her cats.  Jeanette is also survived by a daughter Lola Schreiweis of Springfield, MO; 2 sons, Mike Bourland of Albany, MO and Thomas Bourland of Broken Arrow, OK; a Stepson, Chris Leer of Elkland, MO ; three step daughters , Lisa Leer of Eureka Springs , AR, Laurie Leer of Pasadena, CA, and Laramee Leer of Sarcoxie, MO, 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and two soon to be born. She is also survived by her brother Arvard Winterowd of Galt, CA, 5 sisters, Arlene Williams of Lancaster, CA, Sharon Winterowd of Sacramento, CA, Linda Reeves of Grand Junction, CO, Pam Kelley of Lamar, Diane Dighero of Neveda, MO and a mother-in-law Freida Leer also of Nevada.  There will be a memorial service for Jeanette Friday, March 2, at 3 P.M. hosted by the Lamar First Assembly of God Church. Pastor Mark Garfield will officiate.
