I played golf with Steve, and he had the energy of men half his age. When he was not hitting his golf ball, he was looking and finding stray balls, and was very good at it. I bought balls from him because the money went to his favorite charity. I remember the story of buying a new Toyota car, and the trade in was at home. They went to get the Camry at home, and on the way to the dealership hit a deer with the car. Steve was a joy to have known and shared many stories with me. He was proud of his heritage, and growing up in Le Mars.

I am deeply saddened to hear that Uncle Steve has passed away. He was a kind man. I regret not staying in touch and at least visiting via telephone. I fondly recall staying with them in Monterrey Mexico. I will cherish the memories.

When I think of Steve I see him sitting on his John Deer lawn tractor and removing the snow from the neighbors driveway. He removed quite a bit of snow from my driveway and it was so appreciated.
He always had time for a quick chat and he will be missed.
So sorry for your loss

If you're really lucky, on a rare occasion a person will come into your life that truly makes a difference.... makes life better, makes things work, makes life easier. For over the last eighteen years Lynn and I have had the great fortune to have such a person as our next door neighbor here in the beautiful Highlands of Bella Vista, Arkansas. He is, of course, Steve Nielsen. To say we'll miss him would be a gross understatement. His journey and good works here on Earth are done now..... go with God good friend.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Thelma and her family for their loss.
