Hazel Elizabeth Ratliff, of Lamar, MO, formerly of Rolla, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the age of 80. She was born in Edgar Springs, MO on November 1, 1937 to the late David Everett Roberts and Blanch (Spruell) Roberts on March 3, 1952, in Imboden, AR, she married Leroy Ratliff Sr. who preceded her in death on September 30, 2010. Hazel’s mother, Blanch, died when Hazel was just four days old, so she was raised by her grandparents, Robert Oren Spruell and Rachel Elizabeth (Yowell) Spruell, of Flat, MO. Mrs. Ratliff was a member of Gospel Tabernacle of Belton, MO. She retired from Atlas Van Lines in Rolla as a packer with her lifelong friend, Betty Dablemont. She also had worked at the Shoe Factory and Rawlings Sports Manufacturing, both in Rolla. Hazel had many interests and hobbies. She enjoyed church singings, fishing, garage sales, playing Wahoo and Dominos with family and friends. She LOVED to travel with Leroy when they went with her sister Norma and her husband, Alfred, or with her son, Roy and his wife Iris. She loved every trip, whether a short getaway to look at fall foliage, cruise, or state hopping….all travel. She also did genealogy research on the computer and later her I phone, keeping in touch with everyone she loved with email and lastly with Facebook. She loved going to church, going out to eat, or just to get out and get an ice cream cone. In addition to her parents, grandparents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Roger Allen Ratliff; one grandson, Dustyn Ratliff; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Orel and Barbara Roberts and Kenneth and Donna Roberts; and one sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Alfred Cochran. She will be greatly missed by her surviving family which includes two children, Leroy “Roy” Ratliff Jr. and wife Iris, of Lamar, MO, and Jack Ratliff and wife Pam, of Independence, MO; daughter-in-law, Cindy Ratliff, of Rolla; nine grandchildren, Brad Ratliff and wife Amber, Craig Ratliff and wife Allison, Shawna Burns and husband Michael, Travis Ratliff and wife Yvette, Courtnie Cottino and husband Jeff, Stefanie Kenney and husband Chris, Ryan Henson and wife Hannah, Stephen Wells and wife Chelsea, and David Wells and wife Brianna; twenty-four great grandchildren; wonderful nieces and nephews; church friends who were family; and Truman Healthcare staff, who became like family. 
A funeral service for Hazel Ratliff will be held at 10 am Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla. Interment will follow in the Davis Cemetery in rural Maries County. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 pm Monday, July 16th at Null and Son.
