Obituary of Sam Ladd

Kenneth Samuel Ladd Jr., 74, lost his battle with COPD in Joplin, MO on July 13, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was born June 24, 1944 to Kenneth Samuel Ladd Sr. and Ruby Adaline Myers Ladd in East Alton, IL, where he grew up. Sam was an excellent student, athlete, marksman and a natural public speaker. After a short time at St. Louis University, Sam and his wife Sandy started their family. He worked odd jobs while still attending university. The family later moved to Centralia, IL, where Sam was newly employed and where he and Sandy continued to grow a family. The family next moved to Lamar, MO, where Sam acccepted an offer to work for O'Sullivan Industries as a salesman and then migrated to purchasing. He remained with them for 32 years. He was an avid sportsman and was fond of fishing, hunting and golf.  Sam loved his wife, Sandy, dearly.  She preceded him in death April 13, 2017.  They will be together in Heaven for their 50th anniversary July 20th. He is also preceded by their youngest son Shawn. Left to honor Sam include his daughter Shannon Ladd Crutcher and husband Buster of Joplin, MO; his son Shane Ladd of Lamar, Grandchildren; Sydney Crutcher Cunningham and husband Drew of Ozark, MO, Hope Crutcher Parks and husband Orey of Ewa Beach, HI; Savannah Ladd, Angel Ladd, Patrick Ladd and Kennedy Ladd; great grandchildren Zoey Reign Cunningham and Braxton Reid Royster. 

Private services will be held at a future date at the convenience of the family.
