Obituary of Bill Rex Peacock

Billie R. Peacock, age 83, passed away Thursday October 18 at St Luke’s Nursing Center in Carthage, MO. Bill was born at home near Irwin, MO, January 1st, 1935 to Rex and Helen (Foust) Peacock.  He grew up on his parent’s farm and graduated from Lamar High School with the class of 1953. Bill married Janet L. Davis November 7, 1954.  Bill worked for several local manufacturing companies including Dickey Clay, Thorco, and O’Sullivan’s.  Before finally retiring in 2016 he worked in facility maintenance for the Super 8 Motel.  Bill loved his grand kids, woodworking, fixing whatever needed fixing and the Lamar Tigers. He was a member of the Lamar First Christian Church.  His parents and his wife Janet preceded him in death.  Bill and Janet were married 52 years.  Survivors include two daughters; Kim Pennell and Karen Friday (and husband Robert); five grandchildren, Lindsay Loveall (and Husband Jeremy), Rusty Pennell (and wife Ashley), Ethan Pennell, Devin Gariss (and husband Sam) and Camille Friday; and 6 great grandchildren;  Meg and Aidan Loveall, Zoey and Tallon Pennell and Ava and Rhett Gariss.  Also surviving are 2 brothers; Jack and Bobby Lee Peacock and one sister, Peggy Mayfield.

There will be a funeral service Sunday, 2:00 P.M., at the First Christian Church.  A visitation will be at the Konantz Warden Funeral Home Saturday from 6 to 8 P.M.
