K.Wayne “Butch” Cossel, 68, of Golden City, MO, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, MO.

Born January 3, 1951 in Spokane, WA, he was the son of Kenneth Cossel and Virginia (Smith) Allen. He was raised in Concordia, KS with his parents Jim Allen. Butch graduated from Concordia High School on 1969. 

He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Norgard on February 12, 1993. The couple made their home in Golden City, MO.

Butch was a CMA and loved his work as a care-giver. He also enjoyed watching Royals baseball on TV and cheering for Kansas City Chiefs. He had to give up the job he loved due to advanced Kidney Disease and COPD.

His family includes his wife Liz of Golden City, MO; daughters, Nikki Gabel, Andale, KS and Mandy Cossel, Nevada, MO; sons, Josh Cossel and Chris Cossel, both of Golden City, MO; sisters, Kennda Eis (Chuck), Milwaukee, WI; Stephanie “Dee” Marshall (Bill), Abilene, KS, and Kathy Ashland (Gary), Concordia, KS; brothers, Wallace Cossel (Pat), Sheridan, WY; Terry Cossel (Karen), Beatrice, NE, and Wolf Einhorn, Concordia, KS; his four grandchildren, Trey Gabel, Destiny Gabel, Emily Cossel, Jacob Cossel, and his great-grandchildren, Audrey Cox and Acelin Ponting, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Butch was preceded in death by his brother, Ron Cossel.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, July 14th at 2 PM at the Cloud County Event Center, 107 W 7th Concordia, KS.
