Obituary of Daniel Steven Peyla

Daniel S. Peyla, age 70, of Becker, MN passed away peacefully on April, 27, 2020. He was preceded in death by his father, John B. Peyla and his devoted wife of 40 years, LaVerne M. (Aumock) Peyla . Dan is survived by his mother Edith M. (Lundein) Peyla ; four children, Sissel, Hallie, Jessica and Tony; seven grandchildren, Fredrik, Sophie, Collin, Mackenzie, Myles, Oliver and Romy; and two siblings David and Michael. “Captain Dan” was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War as an Army Aviator. Following the military, he worked as an airplane mechanic, working his way up to becoming a commercial airline pilot, where he eventually made Captain. When he wasn’t flying, he enjoyed reading, playing cribbage, golfing, doing puzzles of any kind, cooking, baking pies and camping in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. Dan was a skilled wood worker and mechanic and could find a way to fix just about anything. His humility, generosity and wit will never be forgotten. His love and friendship will forever be missed. Due to COVID, Daniel's family has decided to postpone his memorial service until next year. Daniel and LaVerne's children welcome you to share your memories on this page.
