Arlene Fast, 81, Liberal, MO, passed away August 29, 2012, at Barton County Memorial Hospital, Lamar, MO. Arlene was born November 25, 1930, to Glenn and Iona (Ricketts) Baker. She graduated from Liberal High School, Liberal, MO, class of 1948. After graduating high school, she attended college in Springfield, MO. Upon graduation she taught in rural schools in the Liberal area. She also worked at O'Sullivan Industries and Liberal Telephone office until its closing. She was a dedicated farm wife. She attended Full Gospel Tabernacle of Lamar, MO and was a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Arlene is survived by her husband Elmer Fast, Liberal; two sons, Mike Fast and wife, Judi, of Pittsburg, KS; Larry Fast and wife, Lisa, of Liberal, MO; four grandchildren, Naomi Fast, Kansas City, MO; Elizabeth (Fast) Frieden, Lamar, MO; Charity (Fast) Hazen, Brentwood, TN; Vince Fast, Nashville, TN; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Baker, Lakewood, CO; one sister, Reba Rouse, Liberal, MO; nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
