Obituary of Roger Allen McCaslin

Roger Allen McCaslin passed away on Tuesday March 30, 2021. He was born February 24, 1954 in Lamar, MO to Frankie “Neil” and Wanda (Eversoll) McCaslin. Roger grew up in Lamar and graduated from Lamar High School in 1972. He was a plumber for Francis Richter before opening McCaslin Plumbing which he owned for many years. He then spent around 20 years living in Tucson, AZ and working as a Wrangler at Tanque Verde Guest Ranch. He was also the co-owner of a silver mine near Tucson, AZ and often sold rocks from the mine on eBay. Roger enjoyed singing and playing his guitar both on the trail and while entertaining family, friends, and neighbors. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. In his younger years, he attended and was baptized at 1st Christian Church in Lamar, MO. Returning to Lamar from Arizona, Roger found a new place of worship in the Newport Baptist Church that he attended regularly. Roger is survived by his wife, Linda McCaslin; son, Allen (Timberly) Crockett of Lamar, MO; and grandchild, Hades McCaslin of Lamar, MO. He is also survived by his siblings, Suzie (Earl) McCulley of Lamar, MO, Teresa (Greg) Little of Lamar, MO, Renea (Don) Tuck of Springfield, MO, Brad (Sherri) McCaslin of Carl Junction, MO, Shane (Holly) McCaslin of Lamar, MO; Pam Wineinger; and brothers-in-law Larry Streiner of Stockton, MO, and Gary Streiner of Oklahoma City, OK; his mother-in-law Lois Fletcher of Irwin, MO; stepmother, Dorothy McCaslin of Lamar, MO; and many other family members . He is preceded in death by his parents Neil McCaslin and Wanda Eversoll; stepfather, Art Lewis; and siblings, Daryl McCaslin, Deana Morrow, and Jimmie Lewis; and first wife JoAnn McCaslin. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Sheldon Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Monday April 5, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM at Konantz Warden Funeral Home.
