Doris Edna Titsworth, age 89, of Golden City, Missouri, passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021. She was born May 20, 1932, on the farm near Prairie View, Kansas, the daughter of Adolph and Amelia (Roeder) Meyer. For over 40 years, Doris was a dedicated educator and mentor in various school districts across Kansas, primarily in Scott City. In that time, she impacted thousands of elementary-level students. At home, her hobbies included crocheting, solving crossword puzzles, working in the yard, and gardening. Born during the Great Depression, Doris was modest and humble throughout life. Although she had a quiet demeanor, she had a strong sense of conviction, a quick wit and a quirky sense of humor. She was a kind and supportive wife, mother and grandmother, known for her “family feud” inducing chocolate cake. She and her husband, Rudy, were married for over 50 years. Doris was a member of the United Methodist Church and various Circle groups, Stone Club WPFA as well as the Retired Teachers Association. She is survived by her daughter April (Scott) Foos of Golden City, MO, son Jim (Jan) Titsworth of Keller, TX and grandchildren, Molly (Will) Urton, Alex (Austin) Cooper, Mitchell Titsworth, Lauren Titsworth and great-granddaughter Khloe Urton. Doris is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister. Donations may be made to the Golden City Fire Department in care of Konantz Warden Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors on Friday, July 16, 2021 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Konantz Warden Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow visitation. Doris will be interred in Pleasant View Cemetery in Mitchell County, Kansas.
