Obituary of Pat Grissom

Please share a memory of Pat to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Patricia Neal (Pat) Grissom passed away on Tuesday October 26, 2021. She was born January 12, 1955 in Lamar, Missouri, to Doyle Granville and Willie Alice (Billie) Faubion. She was raised on a farm south of Lamar and attended Victory School before rural schools were consolidated. Pat graduated from Lamar High School with the Class of 1973. Pat married Ray Grissom on December 31, 1988 in Lamar. She worked as a bookkeeper, teller, prepared loan papers, and was in charge of collections for Barton County State Bank for more than twenty years. She started and operated The Picket Fence gift shop on the north side of the square in the late 1990s. She also transformed Claud’s Barber Shop into Claudia’s Gift Shop, a small shop in The Plaza Theater building, and also enjoyed occasionally helping out at Dot's Hallmark. She served on the Barton County Memorial Hospital Board of Directors and was a former member of the Saddle Club. Pat loved her family, horses, and yorkie, Rufus. She had an infectious laugh and was quite a talker who never met a stranger. She enjoyed cooking, had a wonderful eye for color, and a great talent for decorating that showed in her home. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, an unnamed brother, an infant sister Linda, sister Paula Faubion, and cousins Russell Rand, Kathleen Horton, Doyle Horton, Mike Williams, Doug Williams, and W.J. Hoffsette. Survivors include her husband Raymond, daughters Stephanie Felts-Martin (Mike), Lamar, MO, Aimee (Nelson) Hicks of Columbia, MO, and Shannon Grissom (Michael Wahl) of Miami, OK. She is also survived by grandchildren, Chelsey (Sam) Geyer, Cody Martin, Blake Felts, Brandon Martin, Autumn Russell (William Brown, Jr.), Brittany Fleming, Kaitlyn and Shawna Hicks and great grandchildren Ava Brown and Magnolia Geyer, and a host of friends and relatives. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetic Research Fund) Team: Brandon's Battalion or Oak Grove Cemetery in care of Konantz Warden Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors at Lamar First Baptist Church from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Monday November 1, 2021. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM.
