Obituary of Peggy Sowell

Please share a memory of Peggy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Peggy Sowell, 75, of Lockwood, MO, went to heaven August 27, 2012, from Good Shepherd Nursing Home after a long illness. She was born July 30, 1937 to James W. and Juanita (Thornton) Hare. Peggy married Don T. Sowell, Sr., December 18, 1954, the union to which was born three sons and a daughter. Unselfishness characterized her life. She tirelessly spent her time doing for others as wife, mother, grandparent or caregiver for her own parents. The strength of her desire to put others first was tenaciously exhibited by an uncommon will to love, forgive and persevere. In this way, she was a shining example of our Lord Jesus Christ. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Buddy Hare. She is survived by sons, Don, Jr., Golden City, MO; Tim, Republic, MO; Tom, Springfield, MO; and daughter Tracy, Lockwood, MO; two brothers, David and Ron Hare of Lockwood, MO; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
