William Henry Percy passed away on Wednesday January 12, 2022. He was born December 30, 1931, in Iantha, MO to Freda (Morgan) and John Percy. He attended Liberal Schools and entered the US Air Force in 1952 where he served until 1962. He married Marilyn Jo Maupin on August 24, 1963. He worked for a short time for Lawn Boy before opening a service station with one of his brothers. Later they started a lime spreading business and operated a Phillips 66 station. Eventually he became the owner/operator of his own trucking business. In fact, the first truck he bought, he hid behind the service station until he told Jo about it. He was a good athlete and enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in all their events. Bill was an excellent bowler and entered many tournaments. He was a long-time member of the Lamar First Christian Church. He was well known for shooting fireworks after touchdowns at Lamar High School home football games and for supplying popcorn to the entire 4 States Area. Bill is survived by his wife; daughters, Debbie (Kent) Harris and Sherri (Kerry) Banwart; foster daughters, Colleen (Bryan) Logie and Oma Baker; and sister, Eldora Schreckenghaust. He is also survived by grandchildren, Zach (Lindsay) Harris, Ben (Alisha) Harris, Isaac (Lauren) Harris, Calista (Jamie) Worrall, and Cama Banwart; 8 great grandsons; 4 great granddaughters, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers and 4 sisters. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Lamar High School Boosters, First Christian Church of Lamar Building Fund, or to the givers choice of charity. A funeral service will be held at Konantz Warden Funeral home on Friday January 14, 2022 at 10 AM.
