Kenneth D. Kerston, Jr. 78, passed away August 24, 2012. He was born June 26, 1934, to Kenneth. and Lois Bowlin Kerston, Sr., in Kansas City, Kansas. After graduating from high school, Ken went to work for the Burlington Northern Rail Road. He retired in 1996 after 44 years of service. Kenneth married Mary Saxby, September 28, 1955 at the St. Paul Episcopal Church, Kansas City, Kansas. To this union was born a son, Ronald Lee, and a daughter, Rhonda. The family made their home in Kansas City, KS where he raised pigs, horses and cattle. After his retirement, they bought a farm and moved to Barton County, MO, fulfilling his dream and raising limousine cattle. Several years later, they sold their farm to move closer to town. Kenneth and Mary greatly enjoyed spending winters in their St. Petersburg, FL home. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home; son Ronald Lee Kerston, Douglasville, GA; daughter Rhonda Henderson, Dadeville, MO; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
