Obituary of Gary Lee Workman

Gary L. Workman, 74, of Liberal, MO passed away on Sunday June 12, 2022. Gary was born in Lamar, MO on May 30, 1948, to Donald and Georgia Lee (Robertson) Workman. He attended Liberal High School and graduated in 1966. He married Connie Thompson in Kansas, City, MO on December 4, 1971. He attended barber college in Kansas City and was a barber there for about 5 years before moving back to Liberal, MO. Gary helped his parents at Workman Paneling and worked for 24 years at Masonite in Pittsburg, KS. Gary was an avid quail hunter. He had a good sense of humor, was a little ornery and always had a smile on his face. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and he will be missed. Gary is survived by his sons Brett (Emily) Workman of Liberal, MO and Eric (Shelly Huffine) Workman of Liberal, MO; daughter Jennifer Workman of Liberal, MO; grandchildren Zachery Workman of Sheldon, MO, Hayden Workman of Opolis, KS, Jayce Workman of Liberal, MO, Bailey Workman of Liberal, MO, and Wade Workman of Liberal, MO; and a great grandson Waylon Workman of Liberal, MO. He is also survived by his siblings Bill (Bonnie) Workman of Liberal, MO and Donna Workman of Joplin, MO; 2 nephews; 1 niece and a large extended family. Gary is preceded in death by his wife and parents. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Iantha Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Monday June 20, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM at Konantz Warden Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Iantha Cemetery.
