Darrell Ray Gardner, 82, Golden City, MO, passed away May 1, 2012, at the Dade County Nursing Home in Greenfield, MO. Mr. Gardner was born March 9, 1930, near Milford, Missouri, to Owen and Mildred Perkins Gardner. He graduated from Lamar High School. Darrell spent 20 years in the Navy, retiring in 1967. He then went on to own and operate an upholstery business and worked in upper management in the hotel industry in Palm Springs, CA. Darrell was an active member in the VFW, Moose Lodge, and Eagles Lodge and volunteer work. Mr. Gardner moved to Golden City, MO after retiring in 1995 and enjoyed gardening. He married Sidera Canaday, December 1, 2001 in Norman, OK. Darrell is preceded in death by his parents; a sister Ella Hickman and a brother, William Gardner. He is survived by his wife, Sidera; son Bill Gardner of Dessert Hot Springs, CA; daughter Kathy Jo Morrison of LaQuinta, CA; step-daughter Gayle Chesnut, step sons Robert Boggesss, Jamey Boggess and Mike Boggess ; step daughter Glenda Bigger; step brother Cecil Wallace and step sister Cleo Westbay. He will be missed by many.
